Ekpo Okon reacts to criticism of Ejagam-Ejagam C'River APC governorship ticket

Ntufam Ekpo Okon
Former People's Democratic Party (PDP) Cross River State  Southern Senatorial District aspirant and the running mate to Sen. John Owan Enoh, the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Ntufam Ekpo Okon has reacted to criticism of his choice as running mate.

Fearless Reports published that some members of the APC who spoke in anonymity have criticised the decision of Enoh to pick Okon who is from the same ethnic stock, Ejagam with him as his running mate.

Reacting to the report in a WhatsApp group, Okon said that he's only tagged Ejagam because he was picked as running mate.

He noted that the criticism was unreasonably created and a mischief while warning that those promoting the issue should be mindful of the long term consequences.

Okon quarrelled that those criticising his nomination have failed to recognize that four times House of Representative member who recently won PDP ticket to seek fifth term, Rt. Hon. Essien Ayi is also from Okoyong community where he hails from but have been representing three core Efiks local governments.

He said in a short reaction that, "Yes, Ekpo Okon is from Okoyong and he is tagged Ejagam because of being a running mate. Yet how many of these people would identify Essien Ayi, who also is from Okoyong, as an Ejagam man. Essien Ayi  has been representing 3 core Efik LGAs  in the National Assembly. It is easy to unreasonably create mischief. I wish that these people are mindful of the long term consequences"
