In a bid to boost the Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of the institution, the University of Calabar (Unical) has commenced mass production of paint for commercial purpose.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Zana Akpagu recently approved the request by the Dean, Faculty of Physical Sciences, Prof. Ayi Ayama Ayi
for the commencement of commercial production of paint in the institution.
In a letter dated 22nd October, 2018, the Dean had intimated the Vice Chancellor of his intention to embark on a large production of paint with the trade name UNICAL BRIGHT PAINT.
The different grades of paint to be produced include, Emulsion, text coat, Satin, Matt, Screeding, Oil and gloss paints.
Prof. Ayi said large-scale production of paint in the institution will boost the internally generated revenue of the Faculty and the University at large and also showcase the creative potentials of the institution.
