Owan Enoh gets flag as C'River APC governorship candidate

APC national Chairman , Comrade Adams Oshiomhole (R) presenting flag to Sen. John Owan Enoh as governorship candidate of the party in Cross River State.

The crisis brewing in the Cross River State chapter of the All progressives Congress over the authentic governorship candidate of the party took a new dimension yesterday as Sen. Owan Enoh was presented flag as governorship candidate of the party by the national Chairman, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.

The presentation which took place in Uyo during the flag off of President Muhammadu Buhari campaign was coming despite court rulings recognizing another factional candidate, Dr. Usani Uguru as governorship candidate of the party in the state.

Recall that the party held parallel governorship primaries in October that produced Usani and Enoh as factional candidates.

While the national leadership of the APC has recognized Enoh as the governorship candidate, Usani dissatisfied approached a federal high court demanding that his name be forwarded as the authentic candidate of the party.

Last week, it was reported that a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has ordered that the APC and INEC should recognize only Usani as candidate of the party.

The alleged judgment which details is yet to be put in public domain came few days after a Bwari High Court ordered that the APC and INEC should recognize candidates from the Etim John led faction of the APC which has Usani as its governorship candidate.

Reacting to what happened in Uyo yesterday, a staunch supporter of Usani and the state Deputy Youth Leader of his faction, Arulu Kalita said that the flag presentation was of no consequence as Usani remains the candidate of the party.

According to Aruku in a Facebook "What happened in Uyo today was a mere ceremony and of no significant consequence. If they like they should hand over 1 Million flags, Usani remains the APC governorship candidate until the court says otherwise".

He added that "On the 30th of January INEC will publish their list of candidates and we will know who is who".
