A Federal High Court sitting in Calabar on Tuesday, January 22, 2019 stroke out a suit filed by Dr. Michael Otu Eyong of the department of Soil Science, University of Calabar, Unical challenging the appointment of Prof. Zana Akpagu as the 10th Vice Chancellor of the University.
In a suit number FHC/CA/CS/156/2015, Eyong had dragged the Governing Council of the University to court demanding to be availed the processes and procedures that led to the appointment of Prof. Akpagu.
The presiding Judge, Justice S.M Shuabu said that after hearing the argument by the defence counsel led by Effiom Ayi Esq. and the application to strike out the case for want of diligent prosecution, the court in its wisdom granted the application.
"And the court having granted the application, it is hereby ordered as follows : suit is strike out", the Judge ruled.
