C'River LG Election: Iyadim Submits Form, Extends Olive Branch To Aggrieved PDP Members

The Bakassi Local Government Area PDP chairmanship candidate in the forth coming local government elections, Hon Iyadim Amboni Iyadim yesterday picked and submitted his Intent Nomination Form at the state's party Secretariat along Murtala Mohammed Highway.

Fielding questions from journalists after the exercise, Iyadim extended an olive branch to aggrieved members that lost the party's primaries to him, saying that political infighting should be the least in his agenda.

According to him, " those who were not satisfied with the process should come on board  because Bakassi LGA belongs to all of us."

Iyadim, who described his a call to service, disclosed that he is at grasp with the happenings in the area because he has over time been in the Bakassi political arena serving in one capacity or the other as an elected or appointed officer.

He disclosed that the issue of  displaced persons in the area which is a serious challenge will be adequately addressed  because the resettlement of the indigenes is of paramount interest to the state government while lamenting the near absence of federal government counter contributions to bring succor to the people.

While commending the state for the first phase of its housing units to resettle some of the displaced persons, he noted that more has to be done because the displaced persons have been deprived of their ancestral homes through the ceding of Bakassi to Cameron

The chairmanship candidate noted that though Bakassi LGA is an international border town with Cameron and needs to be fortified militarily  like border towns in Cameron and he therefore called on the federal government to emulate its neighbor in order to ensure peace in the area
