Akpagu to host JAMB Registrar, NUC Sec, Others As NAL Annual Lecture Holds Today In Unical

Multiple award winning Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Prof. Zana Akpagu is to play host to a number of eminent Nigerian Scholars in the field of Arts and Humanities as the Nigeria Academic of Letters (NAL) Annual Lecture holds today in the institution.

Akpagu, a  renowned Scholar of French and Caribbean Literature and the Chief Host of the 2020 NAL annual Lecture holding in Unical today, Thursday 13 February has assured his guests of security and hospitality while in the University.

Amongst those to grace the occasion are Prof. Ishaq Oloyode, Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Abubakar Rasheed, Executive Secretary, Nigeria University Commission (NUC), Prof Emeritus and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, Ayo Banjo, Prof. Emeritus, Femi Osofisan.

The Lecture entitled: "History and the Mythopoeic Vocation: The Nation as Capricious Grand Guignol?” will hold at the Unical International Conference Centre with Femi Osofisan as guest Lecturer.

The lecture will be chaired by the President of NAL, Prof. Francis Egbokhare and Prof. Ayobami  Kehinde as Secretary, NAL.

The Nigerian Academy of Letters, was inaugurated at a meeting held at the University of Ibadan on November 14, 1991.

It is the apex organisation of the Nigerian academics and scholars in humanities and aimed at promoting academic excellence in all branches of humanities.
