UNICAL : VC announces promotion of 15 to professorial cadre

Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar and Chairman of the institution's Senate, Prof. Zana Akpagu has announced the promotion of not fewer than 15 people into professorial cadre.

Prof. Akpagu who made the announcement during a Senate meeting held at the varsity's Senate Chambers on Monday, February 24th 

said that out of the 15, 6 have been promoted into the rank of Professors while 9 are Associate Professors.

The VC listed the newly appointed Professors to include, Christopher Udoka of Banking & Finance, Emmanuel Ekuri (Educational Foundation), Ideba Ele (Agric Economics), Vincent Osabor (Chemistry), John Elemi Ani (Physiology) and Dr Paul Inyang-Etoh (Medical Laboratory Science).

Those of the ranks of Associate Professors were listed as, Dr Uti Egbai (Philosophy) Dr Otasowie Osunde (Dentistry), Dr Onot Ekpe (Biochemistry), Dr David Imbua (Hist/Int Stud), Dr Uwem Affiah (Eng & Lit Stud and, Dr Idom Iyambri (Eng & Lit Stud).

Others include, Dr Benjamin Udoh (Radiology),

Dr Inah Eteng Okon, (Enviromental & Resource Mgt and Dr (Mrs) Joy Eko Atu.
