Akpagu mourns Kyari, commiserates with President Buhari, family

Mallam Abba Kyari, late Chief of Staff to President Buhari

The Vice Chancellor of the University of Calabar, Unical, Prof Zana Akpagu has expressed profound grief of the demise of Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff to President Muhammadu Buhari.

Akpagu in a statement issued in Calabar shortly after the Presidency announced the sad news on Saturday send a message of encouragement to the President and the deceased family. 

He said the Coronavirus which claimed the life of the President's keyman has been so unfair to the world adding that he feels more pained that it has disrupted the Buhari administration's remarkable efforts to returning Nigeria to the path of greatness.

While praying God (Allah) to give Buhari, the entire Presidency and family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the loss, he added that, the sad development has called for a more serious, collective and committed efforts by all Nigerians to combat the ravaging pandemic.

He said that "I'm deeply touched by the death of the Chief of Staff to the President, Mallam Abba Kyari. He was a dedicated leader that did not only believes in the President's idealogies but was a key member of the Presidency who worked tirelessly to see to the success of his administration. He'll be deeply missed.

I know words means so little at times such as these but I pray Allah gives the President, the entire Presidency and the deceased family the fortitude to bear the great loss. I pray Allah to forgive his shortcomings and reward his good deeds. May his soul rest in peace".

It will be recalled that the Presidency early this morning confirmed the dead of the Chief of Staff who tested positive to the Coronavirus virus weeks ago and was receiving treatment until his demise.
