NEW YEAR : Purge yourselves of grievances and genuinely forgive one another - Mbu-Ogar

Hon. Chris Njah Mbu-Ogar, member representing Etung State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly

The member representing Etung State Constituency in the Cross River State House of Assembly, Hon. Chris Njah Mbu-Ogar has urged his constituents to purge themselves of every grievances and genuinely forgive one another as they enter the new year.

Mbu-Ogar who stated this in his new year message to his constituents charged his people to continue to preach love and change in behavior so that Etung will remain a united family.

He maintained that Etung, despite it small size should continue to maintain mighty and robust status in external society.

According to him "recall that we have been confronted with many Egyptians in 2020, of which I find too tragic  to mention. But bare like, we have fought and stayed the course and today, we have collectively finished our 2020 race.

In this new beginning, It is important to purge ourselves of every grievance and genuinely forgive one another.  Lets not wait to be faced with the other negative side of life again, then we realise that we need each other to  remain valuable and strong.

We as Etung, though small in size, should continue to maintain that mighty and robust status in the external competitive society. We must keep the lead in every sphere of life.

While you all celebrate this new year, may I humbly charge us to preach and perform love and behavioural change to all manner of people, devoid of sentiments of class, families, politics, fraternities and religion. Etung must remain one homogenous family, with collaborative and  consolidated spirit to protect the foundations and values entrenched by our forebears".

The Lawmaker added that "For those of us keeping  your mandate at different levels, from Distinguished Senator Prof. Sandy Ojang Onor, Hon.John Nkom Etuk/ Franka Njong Ayuk, our ten Honourable Councillors and I,  we are conscious of the fact that we owe you all debts of gratitude and commitment to genuine service delivery.

It is also correct to say that we may not have satisfied you thus far, but please do not loose your patience. The year 2020 was occasioned by a lot of distractions hence, we lagged.

However, we are not unaware that there's never an excuse for failure, and I trust we shall not fail therein".

Continuing, he said that  "for everyone whose toes we have trampled upon by omission or Commission, our sincere apologies, just as it has become inevitably necessary that we also forgive all those who deliberately, maliciously and mischievously afflicted and distracted us.

It is important that you all pray and unite those of us in positions of Service, that we may shun unnecessary clannish and selfish  political divisions and work together to attract the expected dividends of democracy to all of us".

While pledging his loyalty to the Governor, he said that "It is important to reiterate and appeal to all, that we remain supportive of the Government of  His Excellency, Senator Professor Ben Ayade, Governor of Cross River State and his Deputy, Professor Ivara Ejemot Esu.

Like I remarked in my previous notes, there can only be one Governor and Leader at a time, with absolute and unfettered powers.

We believe that the Governor has Etung Local Govt Area strategically in his policy and developmental thrust and calculations. However, it is our charge as those in the corridors of power, that this trust must be made manifest with visible human oriented projects and human capital development. Indeed, no hope is lost".
