Chief Executive Officer of Frankbornd Nigeria Limited, Mr. Frank Ikemti has commenced mounting of billboards across the five local government area of Cross River North senatorial district for Governor Ben Ayade.
Ayade who emerged candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC for the Cross River North Senatorial race in the rerun primaries is seeking to become the first man in the Old Obudu bloc to do more than four years in the Senate having served in the red chambers between 2011-2015.
In a bid to support the Governor actualize his dream, Mr. Ikemti said that he has paid for the production and mounting of billboards across strategic locations in the entire Senatorial district for the APC candidate.
The entrepreneur who have businesses across the five LGAs of the North and beyond said that, although he believes the Governor's achievements were enough advertisement materials to propel him to victory, he decided to take up the responsibility of mounting the billboards to avoid monopoly of outdoor promotion materials by any party ahead of the elections.
Ikemti who hails from the same local government area (Obudu) as Governor Ayade and one of the major financiers of the party before the Governor's defection last year, maintained that he is optimistic that APC will win all the seats in the state in 2023.
According to him, "Governor Ayade is my senior brother from my ward and the leader of our great party in the state. We need to galvanize support for him to return to the Senate. Nobody, including the opposition can hardly fault his sterling performances while in the Senate. Till date, he still holds the record as the first time Senator with the highest number of bills. If you look critically, some of the bills and motions like the one seeking to reduce the jumbo pay of Senators were people's friendly.
Also, since 1999, the Old Obudu bloc had produced Senator for only eight years. Senate has almost perpetually remained in the Old Ogoja bloc. So, we believe that in 2023, the Senate should return to the old Obudu. That was the idea and gentleman's agreement in 2015 when Ayade left to become Governor ".
The APC stalwart added that " I believe Ayade has done well for our people and his achievements like the Ultramodern German Hospital, Obudu, Vitamized Ogoja Rice Processing Mill, Groundnut Oil Factory in Bekwarra, the over 140KM dualized Northern road, the Obudu Cargo Airport, the Canadian University, etc would speak for him. But I decided to put his billboards to avoid monopoly of outdoor advertising tools by the PDP".
Continuing, he said that, "We've mounted at least five in strategic locations in Obudu already. Later today, we'll be moving to other local governments. We're not just working to deliver Governor Ayade, we're preparing to deliver the party in all the elections and we're optimistic about the chances of the party to win all".
