SAD: Ayade abandons Persons Living with Disabilities, didn't mark Int'l Day:

Governor Ben Ayade of Cross River State has in total abandonment sidelined the Persons Living with Disabilities as the group set to host a protest in Calabar, the state capital.

In a statement signed by Comrade Offiong Okon, State Treasurer, Action Democratic Party and Persons Living with Disabilities (PLwDS) in Cross River State, the group said the Governor refused to release funds to mark the 2017 International Day of Persons Living with Disabilities.

The statement reads thus, "His Excellency, Senator Ben Ayade has refused to release funds for the marking of 2017 International Day of Persons Living with Disabilities which holds every December 3rd, rather he used the money to settle members of the State House of Assembly to allow him present his Kinetic Crystallisation Budget of N1.3trillion.

"He refused to assent to State Disability Bill passed by State House of Assembly.

"Refused to effect corrections to the appointment of Comrade Ogar Inyang as SA on Disabilities Matter.

"Non release of social intervention meant for PLwDS in the State.

"Unemployment of PLwDS in State Ministries".

Comrade Okon also hinted that, PLwDS will soon be embarking on a peaceful demonstration to expressed their plight since the State Government has decided to abandoned them.

The group also pleaded to Governor Ayade to look back at the promises he made to the Persons Living with Disabilities, restore them so to give them a sense of belonging.

If you recalled, the Governor in September did dished out ten million Naira (N10 000 000) to a disabled musician during his NorthFest showbiz, where many said it was a means of embezzling money to his own personal pocket.
