Owan Enoh disowns fake Facebook accounts

The Senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial district, Senator John Owan Enoh has disowned several Facebook accounts created in his name.

Enoh in a statement by his Media aide, Michael Ogar Gabriel, said those behind the accounts were using them to solicit financial support from unsuspecting publics.

Enoh who is the Chairman, Senate Committee on Finance while warning the general public of fraudsters added that he cannot in any circumstances ask people for money on social media.

"The attention of the Senate Fiance Committee Chairman has been drawn to the activities of some fraudsters who have opened some social media accounts with the name: John Enoh Owan Enoh, Sen John Owan Enoh,   purporting to be the Senator representing Cross River Central Senatorial District and the Senate Fiance Committee Chairman.

The unscrupulous elements operating these fake accounts have used same to solicit for money from unsuspecting members of the public.

The general public is hereby notified that Senator John Owan Enoh  does not operate these accounts and would not under any circumstance ask anyone to collect money from members of the public on his behalf.

Senator John Owan Enoh  operates only one official verified Facebook account with the name Senator John Owan Enoh-JOE. While we have taken steps to report these fake accounts to Facebook for appropriate action, members of the public are admonished not to transact any business with the said accounts nor ever send money to anyone in the name of the Senator. Any solicitation should be immediately reported to security agencies for prompt action".
