BREAKING : 3 Unical Dons now certified Inventors, See Inventions

Three University of Calabar (Unical) Lecturers are set to be presented with patent certificate by the National Office For Technology Acquisition and Promotion for two different inventions.

Prof. Eme Effiom Osim and Dr. Sunday Agba Bisong are to be presented certificate for inventing "Method of Aqueous Root Bark Extraction of Rauwolfia Vomiitoria and its Use Thereof" while Dr. (Mrs.) Faith Praise invented "Multipurpose Voltage Solar Battery Charger".

In a letter signed by the Acting Director, Technology Acquisition and Research Coordination (TARC), Ahmed S.A, they are to be presented the certificates on Monday, December 8 in Abuja by the Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonnaya Onu.

"I am directed to inform you that the Trademarks Patent and Design Registry has granted patent for your invention on Multipurpose Solar Battery Charger with patent number NG/P/2018/295 and to invite you to the official presentation of the patent certificate to Investors/Researchers by the Hon. Minister of Science and Technology", the letter to Dr. Praise, one of the investors reads.

The patent number contained in a similar letter to Prof. Osim and Dr. Bisong who co-invented "Method of Aqueous Root Bark Extraction of Rauwolfia Vomiitoria and its Use Thereof" is NG/P/2018/142.

The three Inventors could not be reached for comments at the time of filling this report.
