BREAKING : Owan Enoh makes INEC final list as C'River APC guber candidate

Sen. John Owan Enoh
The Senator representing the Central Senatorial District, Sen. John Owan Enoh's name has been included in the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC final list as Cross River State All Progressives Congress, APC governorship candidate.

This was disclosed by Mr. Bassey Ita, State Publicity Secretary of APC in a statement on Thursday, January 17.

Recall that the APC in the state produced parallel governorship candidates in Sen. Enoh and Niger Delta Affairs Minister, Dr. Usani Uguru.

While the national leadership of the party recognized Sen. Enoh, Usani went to court challenging the decision of the parry not to recognize him.

There have been two different High Court judgements, one favouring Usani as candidate and another recognizing Enoh as the authentic candidate.

However, with this new development as disclosed in Mr. Ita's statement, the question on who the authentic governorship candidate of the party is which has dominated discussion on social media over the past few weeks has been put rest.

According to the statement, all other candidates from the National to state assembly produced by the faction loyal to Chief Clement Ebri and Owan Enoh made the INEC final list.

"On behalf of the entire organs and arms of our great party, All Progressives Congress in the state, may I heartily congratulate most especially Senator John Owan Enoh, our Governorship Candidate as well as all the Senatorial Candidates,House of Representatives Candidates and House of Assembly Candidates for scaling through the tough screening hurdle of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and making the commission's final list of candidates.

Beyond making the INEC list, some of you were exposed to some sort of unnecessary tortuous situations which put undue pressure on your  resources, energy and time that would have been applied early enough in quelling the rebellious opposition against our quest for change.

It is indeed important to state that this has been a tough and tortuous journey for which you deserve the 'succour' of our appreciation.

Congratulations and may God be for you and all of us the strength to carry on to the end which is victory in the coming elections", the statement reads.

Kalita Aruku, staunch supporter of Usani and the state Deputy Youth Leader of the Etim John led faction when contacted however denied that Enoh's name made the INEC final list as alleged by Ita.

Aruku said that "It is not true that Owan Enoh's name is in INEC final list. Where did he get the list from? As at this morning, INEC has not published final list of candidates so the information by Ita is a lie".
