A Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, Mr. Paultu Bukie Tawo has bagged award of teaching and mentorship from the Faculty of Physical Science Students Association of the University.

Presenting the award, the faculty President, Comrade Andrew Irek said that "We present this award to you in recognition of your outstanding contributions to the development of students through teaching and mentoring; which has molded our character and behavior.

"You have always advised and guided us correctly on very technical issues that has to do with our relationship with staff and fellow students, each time we approach you"

Reactibg,the elated Burkie said that "I am grateful to the leadership of the Faculty of Physical Science Students Association for deeming it fit and necessary to recognise and honour me with an award. This award demonstrates the fact that there is still reward for hard work and that, those little things we do that we do not see them as important;  are quite important to some people". 

Burkie added that "To me, I didn't expect that my advisory conversation with students will end me an award. I was only doing it for purpose of furthering the existence of humanity and better the lives of those who will listen and take my advice". 

He urged them to be focused and dedicated to their academic work so they can graduate with good results and get good jobs.
