Youths are vital to post COVID-19 economic recovery- Ndifon, NYCN Chairmanship hopeful

Comrade Victor Ndifon

National Youths Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Chairmanship hopeful in Cross River State, Comrade Victor Ndifon has said that youths are very important assets in the recovery plans of economic downturn brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Speaking in Abia, Etung local government area of the state in an event organised by the Responsive Youth Movement to enlighten young people on the effects of COVID-19, Ndifon reaffirmed his commitment to youths involvement and contribution to development.

Ndifon who is the incumbent state Secretary of the council enjoined the youths not to panic but prepare themselves to lead the processes to manage the effect of the global crisis.

He added that youths are change agents that are capable of leading the fight against COVID-19 and also taking proactive measures to profer solutions as the world prepares for the Post COVID-19 era.

According to him "I am genuinely interested in Youth involvement and contributions to development. We are in a time where the world is shaking and economies have crumbled. This COVID-19 era has opened up to us what I call, systemic failures at all levels. And I know as young people it is our responsibility to change the narrative, and we are going to start it by the grace of God in the Youth Council.

"What we do to transform things is the little things we do in the classroom, in the church, on the road. These little things are what we as young persons can use to change things in our communities, in politics, in the development sector etc".

Earlier, the Director General of the movement, Ejeh Peter said that there was great need for young persons in remote villages to have good understanding of the ravaging COVID-19 and its effects so they can make informed decisions going forward.
