Arthur Jarvis University Holds matriculation For New Students

The Arthur Jarvis University, Akpabuyo, Cross River State, held her 8th Matriculation Ceremony today, 17th May, 2024, to usher in the new intake for the 2023/2024 Academic session.
The event which took place at the high school hall of the institution began with the Matriculation procession by the matriculating students , Heads of Departments , Deans, and management staff led by the band of the institution.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Acting vice chancellor, Dr Joe Ekpet Edet, charged the students to be good ambassadors of the institution and also stressed that, Matriculation which symbolizes the transition from secondary education to the pursuit of higher learning, signifies a new chapter in one's life dedicated to intellectual exploration in the academic sojourn.
He assured the matriculating students of providing good atmospheric learning environment.

Our university is not just a place to acquire knowledge; it is a community that encourages research, intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, and personal growth. Be assured you will certainly have a great memories so you have to make the best of your stay here".
The Registrar of the university, lady Mary Dan- Abia, called upon the matriculating students to make their declaration of loyalty to the Arthur Jarvis University and to the nation as She further administered matriculating oath to the 160 matriculating students of the four faculties of the institution.
Various Deans of faculties in the institution presented their students to the vice chancellor for induction.
Dean, Faculty of Humanities, Management and Social Sciences (FHMSS), Dr David Egbe, presented 52 matriculating students, Dean , Faculty of law, Dr Mrs Christy Ekpe , presented 28 matriculating students, Dean, Faculty of Natural and applied sciences, Dr Edet Asanga, presented 38 students, and Dean , faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Dr Henshaw U. Okoroiwu , presented 42 students accordingly.
The Matriculation ceremony followed with awards presentation to outstanding personalities for their contributions and partnership towards the development and advancement of the institution. They include, Dr E. E Alobo, award of appreciation for books donations, Dr Paul Ebiala, was presented with an award of appreciation, Dr Arit Archibong was presented with an award of appreciation, Dr Christina Ekpe, award of appreciation, Dr Joe Ekpet Edet , award of appreciation, and others.
High point of the event was the signing of Register/ collection of Admission letters and presentation of members, students representative Council of the institution to bridge the gap between the students and management. They include; Emmanuella Okon, Ekana Elliot, Divine Edem, and Blessing Nsembo.
Others include, Faith Chiaka, Omini Kelvin, Josephine Ephraim, Nwada Anembe, Priscilla Emem, Philomenarita Edet, David Habila, Michael Effiong , and Esther Udoh.
The ceremony was highly graced by great personality in the State. Among dignitaries are the Hon. Commissioner, ministry of Establishment, Training and pension, Mrs Lawrence E. Ita , M. S Ekpenyong , Assistant superintendent of Immigration representing the Comptroller of NIS , Cross River State.
Others include, Oseni Ibrahim, Deputy state Commander, Operation and training of NDLEA , Mrs Mercy Bassey, NDLEA deputy commander, Cross River State and host of others.
